ASSORTED RABBIT STORIES
We are reading various stories about rabbits and responding, interpreting, and analyzing the texts.
Children listened to The Dumb Bunnies and The Dumb Bunnies Go To The Zoo, stories about some really
funny hairbrained hares, by Sue Denim. After reading Bunny Trouble and More Bunny Trouble by Hans Wilhelm, the children in our class wrote about Ralph, the soccer playing rabbit. They especially enjoyed the humorous and imaginative artwork of
Dav Pilkey. Students then wrote stories about silly bunny adventures.
| Ralph's Horrible Trouble by Douglas
Ralph was playing soccer on Easter morning and he kicked the ball into the Easter bunny. Some of the eggs hit Brutus, the bull, and they were scattered all over the barn. It was terrible. There was now a rainbow barn in the making. Brutus ran towards the bunny's house and stopped at Ralph's home. Ralph cleaned the barn and went to apologize to the Easter bunny. The Easter bunny said, "It's o.k." So Ralph went home and talked to his parents. They said, "It is o.k." Ralph and the whole community played a soccer game on Easter morning and that is it. There isn't anymore. |
The Egg Hunt by Jacob
It was one day until Easter. Ralph was kicking his soccer ball while all the other bunnies were hiding the Easter eggs and painting them. It was almost time for the egg hunt. That was Ralph's favorite thing to do besides soccer. The bunnies lined up. Then they ran as fast as their feet could take them. Ralph had already found ten eggs in five seconds. At the end of the egg hunt all of the other bunnies had two or three eggs. Ralph had thirty five. Emily, Ralph's sister, came up to Ralph and said, "You couldn't have that many eggs. Ralph said, "Yes, I can. I guess I just run fast." Ralph's other sister, Liza, said, "I think Ralph cheated. All the other bunnies said, "Yeah." Then Ralph said,"Yes I cheated." Then he got grounded, but lived happily ever after. |

Once upon a time there were two silly bunnies named Bad and Sad. Bad was always bad and Sad was always sad. So one day Bad had to go teach Bunny School and Sad was one of the students. They started out learning the ABC's. Bad started to say, "I'm going to call on someone and they need to tell me the wrong answer. So Bad called on Sad and Bad asked her to answer, "What letter comes after "r"." Sad said, "s". "That is wrong." Bad gave Sad a 100% since she got it wrong. Soon it was time for lunch. Willy said, "Food Fight." So Sad said, "Ready, Set, Go!!!" The food went flying around the cafeteria. A little girl named Nancy didn't hear Sad say go. She got hit in the face with a chocolate milk. So she started to throw food too. None of the teachers were there. Lunch was over. They went out to recess. Then they had science and went home on the bus. | ![]() |

Once there were four silly rabbits named Wewoo, Hamburger, Wego, and Pancake. One day Pancake said, "Let's go to the zoo." They all agreed and went to the lake. Wow! Here's one of those lions and zebras swimming around. They went home and ate breakfast, said good morning, and went to bed for the night. Our class also read the Bunny Trouble books by Jan Wilhelm which talk about the adventures of Ralph the rabbit who preferred playing soccer to decorating eggs. These are some more adventures or Ralph and his family. |

Warning!! Extreme Bunny Trouble! by Bradley
One day Ralph was playing soccer as usual except he kicked the ball too hard and it hit Brutus, the bull, which made Brutus really cranky plus Ralph was wearing red. So Ralph ran to get everybody and tell about what had happened. Liza said, "We should get the foxes and put red paint on them. So big Brutus can calm down while chasing the foxes. So the foxes will never bother us again. "Well speaking about Brutus. Here he comes now." |
