Students were asked to write about an event in our community, share why they liked living here, and tell how our community is different from the community where their parents lived as a child. Each student created a brochure to persuade people to live in Double Oak. Some of the crayon drawings are from our town pamphlets. All of these activities provided opportunities for the children to learn about our area and create interest in our community.

Bridget The Double Oak Parade Every year we go to the double oak parade. I was Ginger in the parade. Kelsey was Gulligan. Rachel was MaryAnd. Tanner was the professor and Justin and Logan was the savages. mis Mckinney was mis Howe and mister Ted was Mister Howe and those were all of the Carters. My Town I like liveing in Double Oak because I like the houses. I like liveing in Double Oak because there are a lot of friends and nice peolel and not alote of crime. I like my house to. I have lots of friends like Ian and Allie and Matt and sara to thats all I like about Double Oak. My Mom's Community My mom lived in Floridw when she was 8. It never snowed. It was warm most of the year. The town was smaller then Double Oak and had palm trees instead of oak trees.

Flower Mound Parade Last year Mrs. Fowlers class were in a parade for marcus winning the state football game. This year I was at a parade for marcus and they throw candy there I got some candy. Living In Double Oak I like living in Double Oak because my dad made a house in Double Oak. My Dad's Neighborhood My dad grew up on a farm near a small town. The school was small and he knew all the other kids. They all went to the same church and the the same parties. Most of his friends also lived on a farms. School and church were the place to make friends.

Matt Pumpkinpatch me and my family went to the yearly pumpkin patch.my sister went through the hay maze.we also got to pick out a big pumpkin. we got to go on a hay ride . frankenstein drove the tractor .

Living in Double Oak I like liveing in double oak becuase they have low crime they have nice people we have a nice mayer.

My Mom's Neighborhood it was diffrint beceuse they had diffrint mayers.the populashan was diffrint. my mom playd ball in the street . My mom grew up in Snyder, Texas. the populashan was smaller. my mom has two brother,s and one sister.

Double Oak Parade I always enjoy the Double Oak 4th of july parade. my favorite part is being in the parade. I like getting dunked. I Like Double Oak I like Double Oak because it has one yacker lots. My Mom's Neighborhood my mom's commumity had only 1 school for all the area childred to attenend. she lived in Illinoisand it snowed during the winter. she lived on a farm and owned a horse. she had to drive 30 miles to go to modonalds.

Katie 4th Of JULY PARADE I went to the Double Oak 4th of July parade .It was fun.Me and my best friend kinber. Thruw candy to all the kid`s. In the neighdorhood. On fire truck.
I LIKE DOULE OAK BECAUSE........... Lot`s of nice pepule.And lo crime. Doule oak is a lot the same as colleyville.and lot`s of school`s.

July Parade I was in the 4th of July Parade.It was fun,but I didn't get to throw any candy.I got to be behind a kid in a gocart.My mom got tired and got to ride in a car.Soon I got tired and my mom let me take her spot.So my mom got out and started to push my brother.Soon the parade was over and I got out of the car and went to my mom.We saw my dad and we all went to the fire department.We went there because they were having a place were you can play games.There was a water dunk.You throw balls at a medal thing.If you hit it the person will fall in cold water. I Like Double Oak I like Double Oak because there are alot of nice people.It is nice living in Double Oak.Double Oak has alot of pretty lakes. My Dad's Community A long time ago my community was very differen't.There wasn't very many people in Waco,Texas but there was alot of things to do.If you go downtown there are alot of stores.We had alot of space in our front yard.I think the mane reason it was diffren't is there was alot of funny looking cars.

Ian Evente We went to the forth of july perade ther were lots of nete things like fire trucks ,and lon morwers,and scooders with moders. It was lots of fun.
my Dads life. My dad grew up in newyork. Were there are aiot more people and the houses are close together. my Mom grewe up in Texas on a farme. Here dad served lunch in war.
Mom and Dad's Community How is duble oak is difrint then flower mound. I thinck flower mound has better faseliteys then Double oak. Beacus they have better bilders and poleice and firemen. Butt double oak has wide open spases and big houses to. So i think that flower mound and doubl oak are prety much the same.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Festival I went to the Lewisville Christmas Tree Lighting Festival.There was a lot of pepole there. There was dancers and food.The Mayor lit the gient tree.It was awesome.It was very cold when we went went at night.The End. I playeds solfball for 2 years now I am going to play this year to I hope. The End. I Like Doubl Oak Becase I like Doubl Oak becase there are nice people there. My Dad's Neighborhood My dad lived on Lookout Mountain in Tenessee when I was Laura's age. It was a cool , mountainous area with lot's of caves and cliffs to explore. It was a small community like Doubl Oak. It was flat in Doubl Oak but we had steep hills in our community .They were fun for sledding in the winte because we had lots of snow.
