Autumn Across Flower Mound, Texas

Visit Autumn Across America Project

We are excited about participating in the Fall Across America Project.  As part of the project our second grade class has enjoyed a variety of fall literature.  One of our favorite books was Autumn, An Alphabet Acrostic by Steven Schnur.  We brainstormed words that remind us of fall and wrote acrostic poems.  Our "Student Work" page on our web site features some of our acrostic fall poems.  http://mrsdennison.com/0607/StudentWork/index.htm  We also celebrated Arbor Day on November 3 when representatives from our town provided us with a fun morning of outdoor activities.  Fall is a great time for planting in Texas.  A live oak tree was planted on our playground, and we took a walk through the woods behind our school and identified various trees.  We learned about worms and composting and even planted a tree to take home.  To learn more about our town and play a matching game with historical Flower Mound facts, please visit http://mrsdennison.com/0304/Community/index.htm
